Video | Keith Olbermann "Ruined Health Care Bill"

Keith Olbermann held no punches tonight in describing what has happened to the great dream of National "Health Care" once it reached the Senate's Republicans and corporate Democrats, with the distant blessing of the Obama White House:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Paul Krugman, who I also respect highly says hold your nose but pass the bill.

Dean Agrees With Dean | Kill the Insurance Company's National Health Care Bill

I agree with the Doctor:

Howard Dean: ‘Best Thing to Do Is Kill the Senate Bill’

And wait for corporate Joe Lieberman to die. Apparently that's the only way to get him to stop doing Rahm Emmanuel dirty work.

Joe Lieberman = Hypocritical, Sanctimonious Dick of the Year?

The most accurate description of the Health Care Bill, or the watered down gift to the insurance industry coming nearly comatose out of the senate is from Firedoglake:

This Isn’t Health Reform; It’s Extortion for a Protection Racket

I saw Ron Wyden on the Rachel Maddow Show giving a heroic effort to make this(HCR) turd look good. Why he bothered I don't know(I guess he got paid, and there's always that tv face time).
Regarding Joe Lieberman(R, Asshat). How these "progressive" Dems can remain on good terms with a slimy weasel like "sell out Joe" is beyond me. Hell, the 2008 Joe/McCain slap in the face would have done it for me. The most amazing thing- they keep coming back to Joe for more, they'll continue to kiss his wrinkled behind, he'll continue to kick them(and us) in the face. It's been happening since at least 2000.
Here's the runner-up from Kos

Congratulations, Senate Dems!!!

And also from Kos a nice Christmas carol for "Insurance company Joe", to the tune of "Silver Bells":

City ERs, busy ERs
Come and sit for a while
In the air
There's a feeling of nausea
Children crying
People dying
Thanks to Cigna denials
And on ev'ry street corner you'll hear:

"Lieberman!" "Lieberman!!!"
It's turncoat time in the Senate
What a jerk. Watch him smirk.
"Health care reform? Not today!"

He says "No way"
Then says "Yes way"
Then says "No way" again
As he spins Harry Reid like a dreidel

Hear him bullshit
See him pull shit
This is Joe's big MO
Big Insurance owns him toe to ear

"Lieberman!" "Lieberman!!!"
He'll filibuster 'til doomsday
Obstructing
And lying
Soon let us hope he will pay

Soon let us hope he will paaaaaay!

Public Option? Aetna To Drop 650,000 Clients Next Year For More Profits

Silly, you thought Big bloated Insurance companies would at least wait till their Congress critters(Cough, Lieberman, Cough) killed health care reform before showing even more gluttony and avarice.

"Health insurance giant Aetna is planning to force up to 650,000 clients to drop their coverage next year as it seeks to raise additional revenue to meet profit expectations…"

If this isn't a perfect example of why we MUST have a strong Public Option in the National health care bill. Even better, it's what the majority of Americans want.

Video | Harry Reid Brings Public Option To Senate

Damn, who woulda thunk it? Harry Reid pulls out the Public Option. With an "opt-out" provision, but still.
Obviously the progressive side of the aisle, and those public opinion polls have had a big affect. Here's Harry:

The Public Option | Not Quite Dead Yet?

Well, well, maybe that public option that my "news"paper and most corporate outlets keep telling me is a goner is still kicking. At least according to President Obama in a speech in Minnesota today. He sounds pretty sincere people:

Paul Krugman explains:
Why the public option matters

Belatedly...
I wish I had a job to go to tomorrow but I don't...Let me rephrase that, I wish I had a source of income that a job brings. This worry is like a planet on my shoulders every day.
On a related note I'd be glad to dump the ads at the top of this page for ones that would make me some survival money. I've had to look at those things for 2-3 months(?) and have yet to get a dime from it.
Anyone like to buy a banner? No?
It's cold out here in nobody land.

Kennedy: ‘The Cause of My Life’

Oh, And Orrin Hatch; Either support your "Dear friend" Ted's health care plan or STFU about your BFF Ted! Thank you..

"Heartbroken parents pleaded with the doctors: What chance does my child have if I can only afford half of the prescribed treatments? Or two thirds? I've sold everything. I've mortgaged as much as possible. No parent should suffer that torment. Not in this country."
Ted Kennedy, Newsweek: ‘The Cause of My Life

Can Ted Kennedy's Death Bring Good National Health Care?

I hope so.
And one with at least a public option(I'd prefer single-payer).
Call it the Kennedy Bill..that would be nice and fitting.

Sign the petition.

Breaking: "Joementum" Lieberman STILL A Corporate Whore!

Remember when Joe sleaze was electioneering For John McCain in '08? Me to.

Lieberman: Worry about uninsured after the recession is over

Why is this corrupt manwhore still getting air time?

Oh, and speaking of John McCain. That other corporate douchebag with EXCELLENT government health care RIGHT NOW, whines(as if you cared) about the little people not needing that silly old gubment insurance:

McCain: Obama must drop public option

Don't you watching two weasels working together? Someone tell Johny that "Matlock" is on.

A Disaster Area? No, It's That American Non-Guvment Health System

Another view of that premium US health care system that the Wingnut teabaggers(or as MSNBC describes them "senior citizens") - many of whom are on medicare, Veteran's benefits, and/or other guv-ment programs - love to crow about in front of those townhall corporate media cameras.

"..looking at a make-do clinic in that "remote area" known as American health care.."

Patients receive dental care inside the Forum arena at a free health clinic on August 11, 2009 in Inglewood, California. Hundreds of people, most without either health or dental insurance, waited outside much of the night for the first day of the clinic.

Breaking: Arlen Specter Mauled By Wingnuts!

I caught a bit of Arlen Specter's town hall event this morning at the end of the Dylan Ratigan Show. Below is a clip from the beginning of the event. I saw the first of seven questions and it was all wingnut all the time. At one point when one said something particularly wingnuttia virtually the whole crowd stood up and cheered. That will give you some idea of the political aspect of the mob. One woman said she was 35 years old and identified herself(as if she needed to) as a "Republican conservative", and then proceeded to rant about the politicians(hint Obama) destroying our consitution. Where do you think this Wingnutlady was when bloody dubya was wiping his behind with the document during the Cheney administration?

Many of those Rightwing conservatives I saw ranting about "government run healthcare" looked like they may well be well into Medicare, and/or other "government run healthcare programs"(just a minor observation).
My BIG question is; How are these people becoming like 80~90% of the audience at these events? Do they shove their way in ahead of people with intelligent questions and concerns, is there complicency with some of the organizers, does the 70%+- of Americans who want health care reform just not bother to show up? So many questions without answers.
Poor Arlen apparently was not the best guy to come back with pithy comebacks and revelations. A lot of his replies to Wingnuttia hysteria was something along the lines of, "ah, ah, ah, well, uh, uh, uh". Although he did throw in a zinger at the Bushistas after the 30something wingnut lady did her "poor constitution" whine.
I also realize that the conservative Repubs are already highly pissed at ol' Arlen for switching over to the heathens anyway. So they don't need to much prodding to hate him.
On a related note. I sort of like Dylan Ratigan's show, it's okay if you're a(Democratic) political junkie.

"Bipartisan" Jellyfish say, No Health Care For You!

Surprise(not)! Max Baucus and his "bipartisan" buddies are selling us out on a REAL National health care system. I believe the word bipartisan here means Lobbyists in charge.

And this:
..47 million Americans are uninsured. Another 25 million are underinsured..

The only insurance I have now is through my wife's work.

Bill Moyers Journal | "Harry And Louise", And The Coming Health Care Scam

Have you seen those new "Harry and Louise" health care ads? They finally support a National health care plan? I saw it a few times and thought it odd that this old corporate toady duo cares about America's health care now. Corporate Harry, and corporate Louise have come to their senses and now support health care for every American?
Alas, on Bill Moyer's Journal last night it was explained to me why H&L's masters support this new health care plan. The new health care bill that will probably emerge be will another federal corporate welfare plan that will dump millions of new "forced" subscribers onto the Insurance and pharmacuetical companies gravy train. Listen:

The Republicans are fighting Obama and serving their corporate masters, the Democratic Blue dogs seem to be dumb as posts and serving those same masters.
This national health care bill could be a model for the world. But it won't, it'll just be another way to line corporate boardroom walls with taxpayer cash.

Sign Up For President Obama's "Organizing For Health Care"

This sounds pretty good. The Obama/DNC "Organize for Health Care" petition to Congress.
Now if the President and the Congressional Democrats won't allow it to be smothered in it's crib by insurance lobbyists, corporate media, corporate Republicans, etc. Please sign up and hope.
P.S. I'm on a rare visit to the old Blogcenter. Seems like there's more to do when unemployed than when I was working full time.
Maybe I'll start a little "art object item of the week" auction to make a living.
On 40 hits a day!!
I'd starve!
Anyway, it's WAAAAYYYY past time for a decent form of National health insurance. Help make it happen.
Back later(sooner or..)

Anti-Health Care Reform Chairman Once Defrauded Government Out Of Hundreds Of Millions

Some would call this ironic, some would call it outrageous, some fitting. I'll just call it what it looks like. Sleazy.

Once Forced to Resign in Massive Fraud Case, Rick Scott Reborn as Leader of Anti-Healthcare Reform Lobby with the Conservative Patients' Rights Action Fund

Christopher Hayes at The Nation said:
Having Scott lead the charge against healthcare reform is like tapping Bernie Madoff to campaign against tighter securities regulation. You see, the for-profit hospital chain Scott helped found--the one he ran and built his entire reputation on--was discovered to be in the habit of defrauding the government out of hundreds of millions of dollars.

And here's the old fraud himself:
