I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry - Hank Williams Live Performance
Ramblings from a relocated and under-employed Southeastern Kentuckian. Liberal politics, art, music, movies, books, sports, games, whatever else strikes my fancy....Sad and strange the days that are no more...
Caught the corporate news of ABC this morn. Wanted to post but had to be at work early for a long 8 hours.
SOoo finally here I am.
The talking head on ABC "News" was Ms...let's just call her, "what's her name" and she told me that there were going to be rallys in all 50 states in support of Wisconsin's public Union today organized by Moveon.org. Now if this were an actual "News" show I'd have seen an interview of someone at Moveon.org because that's a pretty impressive feat. Instead(surprise! not!) what I got was a quote by the Republican anti-union gov of Wisconsin Scott Walker, who was apparently concerned
that if he didn't bust the union the workers would have to be fired(or some B.S. like that). At this point the video changed to our intrepid journalist Ms. "what's her name" strolling with the Republican anti-union gov Scott Walker. Having seen corporate "liberal media news" before and knowing what was coming from ABC(Always Been Corporate) was going to be a commercial for Republican union buster Scott Walker I changed chammels. Goodbye corporate ABC "News", goodbye sharp reporter Ms. "what's her name", goodbye any chance of truth getting out on the tvs.
Meanwhile all you need to know about Republican anti-union thug Gov Scott Walker is right here. Talking to one of his main sugar daddies(or so he thought)
While I'm here here's Moveon's live stream of the protests. Not that it matters. Protests didn't matter in the build-up to the attack on Iraq and they won't matter in the busting up the final remnants of unions. Corporate "news" media will not allow it.

Actually all the Republicans are Anti-Union Thugs. No surprise..
"The question now is, do Democrats understand their own intitutions and their own strengths well enough to know they ought to be defending them."

"..they first came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me —
and by that time no one was left to speak up."

A shot of my work area on a recent morning with the out dated foods that I'll scan out of the system and throw in the store's garbage dumpster at the end of my shift in the chef shop. When I open the door on that dumpster there's often assorted piles of food(and everything in between) already there.
Starting at lower left and going clockwise; mesquite chicken, various panninis, trail slaw(good stuff), French marinated carrots, and in the center, broccoli salad. The cart to the right has various prepack containers which contain salads, hot browns and assorted others foods. The waste of foods, plastics, metals and everything else thrown away every day in(just this one large store) bothers me. But it's my "work" now...
